Crankworx Rotorua closed with two results that could shape the early Slopestyle Super League picture. In the women’s contest, Johanna Nußbaumer took the win for Germany with 92.50, finishing more than ten points clear of Robin Goomes. The margin matters. It turned a strong final into a statement result at one of the most important stops on the calendar.
For Nußbaumer, the win marks a major step in her progression. She had already entered Rotorua as a notable name in the emerging women’s field, but this was the result that moved her from contender to event winner. Beating Goomes on New Zealand soil also adds weight to the performance, especially against a rider with proven championship level pedigree.
Shealen Reno’s third place keeps her in the mix, but the 19.25 point gap to first shows how clearly the final was decided. Rotorua did not produce a tight three rider battle for gold. It produced a decisive win and a clearer hierarchy on the day.
In the men’s event, Dawid Godziek won with 97.67, ahead of Lucas Huppert on 94.88 and Nicholi Rogatkin on 94.10. That spread was much tighter, but Godziek still created enough separation to stay on top. In a final where the podium scores were all above 94, his run stood out for both difficulty and execution.
The result reinforces Godziek’s position as the benchmark rider in the current men’s field. Huppert’s second place is one of the most important results of the final, though, because it put him directly into a high scoring contest with two established names and he held his ground. Rogatkin in third confirms that the top tier remains deep, but Rotorua again belonged to Godziek.
With Rotorua counted among the key slopestyle stops of the season, both wins carry more than event level value. Nußbaumer leaves with a breakthrough result that can change expectations around her season. Godziek leaves with another victory that strengthens an already elite trajectory.
