Event Overview

The 2025 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship, held from April 25 to May 1 at El Sunzal, featured 144 athletes from 44 nations, setting a new participation record. The event showcased the growing global appeal of longboard surfing, with a near-equal representation of male and female competitors. 

Finals Day offered clean, three-to-five-foot waves, providing optimal conditions for high-performance longboarding. 

Women's Final Recap

Rachael Tilly (USA), after two previous silver medals, captured her first ISA World Longboard Championship title with a 15.13 heat total. Tilly's performance was highlighted by an 8.33 and a 6.80, demonstrating her exceptional nose-riding and rail work. 

Alice Le Moigne (FRA), a two-time ISA World Champion, secured silver with a 14.60 total, including a standout 9.00 ride. Maria Fernanda Reyes (PER) earned bronze, adding to her 2023 silver medal, while Sophia Culhane (HAW) took copper, marking her second consecutive finals appearance.

Men's Final Recap

Edouard Delpero (FRA) achieved his first individual ISA World Longboard Championship title after three consecutive finals appearances. Delpero dominated the final with an 18.24 total, featuring rides of 9.17 and 9.07, leaving his competitors needing combination scores to catch him. 

Rodrigo Sphaier (BRA), the 2010 gold medalist, secured silver with a 15.97 total. Rogelio Esquievel Jr. (PHI) took bronze, and Taka Inoue (JPN), the 2024 silver medalist, earned copper.
