Italian transition sensation Alessandro Mazzara began his skateboarding journey at Rome’s Cinecittà skatepark aged just seven years old. Within six years he would win his first pro-level vert contest. 2020’s lockdown allowed Ale to use the freeze in contests to dial in ever more progressive tricks ahead of skateboarding’s debut at the Tokyo Olympics. A protégé of the Italian vert skating legend Giorgio Zattoni and his gigantic vert ramp in Ravenna, expect Ale to attack the biggest sections of the terrain right from the start of his runs and set down some early markers in terms of going big. Unlucky with injuries at recent events, he is the only skater to have a hometown advantage at the 2023 World Championships in Rome.
