One of three anticipated finalists not to make it even to semis in WST Kitakyushu, Ginwoo then blew out his ankle during practice at WST São Paulo in Brazil. 2024 saw possibly a disappointing Paris Olympic Games for the Onodera family after the little man stood strong through the OQS with two 2nd places when others fell by the wayside. The Japanese teenager has been a constant threat to established names in the WST purely by dint of his remarkable consistency at extremely short-odds tricks. At the 2022 WST World Championships in Sharjah he held his own to come out as a Bronze medalist at the first time of asking. Since then he has rarely been off the podium throughout the World Skateboarding Tour and his experience in Paris should settle any remaining big-game nerves.
