Back-to-back event shutdown victories in 2025 capped one of the biggest come-ups in competitive skateboarding for Ibuki Matsumoto. You got the sense that it would be when and not if Ibuki Matsumoto would win a World Skateboarding Tour stop, and she did just that in the most emphatic fashion in front of a home crowd in Japan in November 2025 before going on to take the 2025 World Champion crown in Brazil just a few months later.
