Nyjah Huston returned to the top at SLS Miami 2025 with a razor-thin victory over Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro, winning by just 0.1 points. The Watsco Center crowd erupted as Huston laid down his final score, sealing the win with his trademark precision. This marks Huston's second podium finish in a row after a third place in Tokyo, and it was his first SLS win since Jacksonville 2024.
Ribeiro, coming off a strong semifinal showing, nearly matched Huston trick-for-trick, while Felipe Gustavo made his first podium appearance since 2023 with a clean and consistent run.

Rayssa Leal opened her 2025 SLS season with a dominant win, scoring 32.1 and leaving no doubt about her form heading into the Paris Olympic qualification stretch. This was Leal's third straight SLS event win, following triumphs in Tokyo and São Paulo in 2024.
Australian Chloe Covell claimed second despite a couple of early bails, while Japan’s Coco Yoshizawa impressed in her first SLS podium appearance, signaling her rising presence in the pro ranks.
With over 6,000 fans packing the Watsco Center, the season opener also featured a live music stage, athlete meet-and-greets, and community skate sessions hosted by the Miami Skate Club.
