The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2025 launched its downhill campaign with a spectacular round in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, from May 17–18. This marked the first time Poland hosted a World Cup downhill event, and the trails of the Beskid Mountains did not disappoint.
Oisin O’Callaghan of Ireland stunned the field with a near-perfect run to take his first World Cup elite victory, narrowly edging out Jordan Williams and Loris Vergier in a tightly contested final. The Irish rider has shown consistent form in the past two seasons, but this win marks a breakthrough at the elite level.
In the women’s field, Germany’s Nina Hoffmann overcame defending champion Vali Höll with a commanding second sector and flawless technical execution through the final rock garden. Myriam Nicole, returning from injury, rounded out the podium and looked strong across all splits.
The race featured dry conditions and a fresh course carved into Bielsko-Biała’s steep and loamy terrain, with natural rock sections and high-speed compressions pushing riders to their limits.
While downhill took center stage, the Poland round of the UCI World Cup also included Enduro and E-Enduro competitions earlier in the weekend, contributing to a packed schedule and festival-like atmosphere for the thousands of spectators on site.
