X Games Sacramento, originally slated for summer 2025, has been officially postponed as organizers prioritize preparations for the debut of the X Games League (XGL), a new season-long competitive format set to reshape action sports.
The announcement, made earlier this week, confirmed that the decision was driven by the logistical and structural demands of launching the inaugural XGL season. Designed to introduce a points-based tour system for athletes across multiple stops, the league aims to bring more continuity, narrative, and structure to X Games competitions year-round.
While disappointing for fans expecting another high-energy event in California’s capital, officials emphasized that Sacramento remains a key part of X Games’ long-term vision. A revised calendar for both standalone events and XGL stops is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The XGL will feature divisions in BMX, Skateboarding, and Moto X, with top athletes competing across multiple cities to crown overall champions by the end of the season.
