Milan-Cortina 2026 Freeski Slopestyle Men: Birk Ruud edges Alex Hall; Luca Harrington takes bronze

Published Feb 11, 2026

Birk Ruud delivered the day’s highest mark at 86.28 to secure Olympic slopestyle gold. Birk Ruud outscored Alex Hall by 0.53, with Luca Harrington another 0.60 back. The narrow margins underline a final decided by execution under pressure rather than separation in trick selection.

Switzerland’s depth put pressure on the podium bubble, but Andri Ragettli settled for fourth on 78.65. Veteran style specialist Jesper Tjäder placed fifth with 77.21. Norway showed the strongest team presence with three in the top 12, including Sebastian Schjerve in sixth and Tormod Frostad in twelfth.

New Zealand’s two-top-eight showing, led by Harrington and Ben Barclay, signals continued progression in their program. The youth curve was visible: 21-year-olds Matej Svancer and Harrington both finished inside the top eight, while 17-year-old Lucas Ball gained Olympic experience in 20th.

Ranking points were not published at the time of writing. Based on recent form, Ruud strengthens his status as the event’s pace-setter, while Hall’s silver consolidates U.S. podium reliability ahead of the next World Cup stops.
