The Laax Open 2025, held from January 14 to 18 in Switzerland, celebrated its 10th anniversary by showcasing top-tier performances in snowboarding and freeskiing. The event featured FIS World Cup competitions in snowboard slopestyle, snowboard halfpipe, and freeski slopestyle, attracting over 200 athletes from 25 countries.
Snowboard Slopestyle Men:
- Cameron Spalding (Canada) – 86.63
- Red Gerard (USA) – 86.22
- Noah Vicktor (Germany) – 83.72
Cameron Spalding secured his first Laax Open title, improving upon his third-place finish from the previous year. Red Gerard, the 2018 Olympic champion, closely followed in second, while Germany's Noah Vicktor achieved his first World Cup podium finish.
Snowboard Slopestyle Women:
- Mia Brookes (United Kingdom) – 84.86
- Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (New Zealand) – 77.29
- Kokomo Murase (Japan) – 71.15
At just 18, Mia Brookes claimed her first Laax Open title, becoming the youngest champion in the event's history. Olympic gold medalist Zoi Sadowski-Synnott took second, with Japan's Kokomo Murase rounding out the podium.
Snowboard Halfpipe Men:
- Scotty James (Australia) – 95.75
- Ruka Hirano (Japan) – 93.75
- Ayumu Hirano (Japan) – 87.00
Scotty James clinched his fourth Laax Open title with a standout second run featuring a cab triple cork 1440. Japanese riders Ruka Hirano and Ayumu Hirano secured second and third places, respectively.
Snowboard Halfpipe Women:
- Chloe Kim (USA) – 96.50
- Maddie Mastro (USA) – 94.50
- Gaon Choi (South Korea) – 93.25
Chloe Kim earned her fifth Laax Open title, making history by landing a cab double cork 1080. Maddie Mastro also made headlines as the first woman to land two double corks in a single run, securing second place. South Korea's Gaon Choi completed the podium.
Freeski Slopestyle Men:
- Birk Ruud (Norway) – 85.54
- Mac Forehand (USA) – 82.43
- Alex Hall (USA) – 81.62
Norway's Birk Ruud defended his Laax Open title with a strong second run, while Americans Mac Forehand and Alex Hall took second and third places, respectively.
Freeski Slopestyle Women:
- Eileen Gu (China) – 81.22
- Megan Oldham (Canada) – 72.80
- Mathilde Gremaud (Switzerland) – 72.59
Eileen Gu claimed her first Laax Open slopestyle title with a commanding performance, including a double 10 on the kicker. Canada's Megan Oldham and Switzerland's Mathilde Gremaud completed the podium.
Beyond the competitions, the Laax Open celebrated its milestone anniversary with various events, including the Red Bull Rail Riot, an open rail contest, and live performances by artists such as Annie Taylor, Phenomden, and MOBB DEEP.
