The 2025 WSL Lexus Tahiti Pro delivered heavy barrels, high stakes, and critical shakeups in both the men’s and women’s rankings as Jack Robinson and Molly Picklum secured pivotal victories in near-perfect Teahupo’o conditions.
On the men’s side, Jack Robinson claimed his first win at the iconic reef and his second CT victory of the season, defeating Griffin Colapinto in the final. Robinson was in sync with the powerful left-handers all event, combining deep tube riding with composure under pressure. This result boosts Robinson into a stronger position in the race to secure a spot in the WSL Final 5.
Griffin Colapinto’s runner-up finish continues his string of strong performances this season, while younger brother Crosby Colapinto earned his first-ever CT podium, finishing third. In the women’s division, Molly Picklum took the win with a composed and calculated approach at one of the tour’s most challenging stops. She edged out Caitlin Simmers in the final, earning her second win of the year and climbing back into the WSL Final 5 conversation after a mid-season slump.
Caitlin Simmers, already in contention for the top spot, solidifies her ranking with the second-place finish. Gabriela Bryan, who reached the semifinals, secured her first podium of the season and proved her comfort in heavy reef conditions.
With only one regular season event remaining before the Rip Curl WSL Finals, the Lexus Tahiti Pro served as a major momentum shift. Several surfers on the bubble now face a do-or-die scenario at the upcoming Corona Saquarema Pro in Brazil.
