The MoonPay X Games League Summer Draft will select 40 athletes from a pool of more than 150 skateboarders and BMX riders. Four General Managers will build co-ed rosters of ten athletes, five women and five men, in a five-round snake format. Early rounds will be announced on stage at Cosm Los Angeles, with later rounds revealed on draft boards. Undrafted athletes become free agents for X Games call-ups.
Broadcast coverage includes ESPN+ on the ESPN app and YouTube. Additional distribution has been promoted across partner channels including Roku Sports and Kick.
Founder Athletes such as Nyjah Huston, Ryan Sheckler and Ryan Williams have been positioned by X Games as faces of the new league structure, underscoring the competitive stakes of draft night for both skateboarding and BMX.
League materials have signaled four city-based clubs for summer competition in Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo and Tokyo. How GMs balance street and park skill sets across both sports, while meeting the 5-women roster requirement, will define early competitive parity and shape rankings trajectories once the season schedule is released.
