Ryusei Yamada won the men’s bracket at the Snow League’s Aspen stop, closing out a Japanese one two ahead of Yuto Totsuka, with Jake Pates taking third for the United States. The result matters beyond the podium because it rebalances the season narrative after Totsuka’s earlier consistency, and it gives Yamada the clearest signal yet that he can finish events, not just qualify well.

On the women’s side, Sara Shimizu took the win over Maddie Mastro, with Sena Tomita in third. Japan put two riders on the women’s podium and swept the top two spots in men’s, underlining how deep its halfpipe pipeline is across both fields.

Aspen also tightened the season’s pressure points.
